André Galluzzi

  • Country: Berlin / GER
  • Labels: Cocoon / ARAS / Plus8

André Galluzzi was born in Frankfurt in 1973. To supplement his pocket money, he started working at a club’s bar at the age of 14 years. It was a twist of fate when one night the DJ got sick and André was quickly appointed to act behind the turntables. This experience changed his life completely: His talent did not go unnoticed, and it didn’t take long until he started playing at various clubs like the M in Mainz or the legendary Bunker in Berlin. This led to his first residency at the Park Café in Wiesbaden.

In 1994, André started pulling the strings of the scene as well. At his new job at the renowned distributer Neuton, he met Paul Brtschitsch with whom he founded the label „TAKSI“ in 1995. The first release also received a knightly accolade when it was played by Sven Väth in his „HR3 Clubnight“. One year later he finally moved to Berlin, where he started a residency at Tresor and together with the agency „Good Groove Booking“ he also began to play in other countries of the world. In addition to gigs in Sweden, Canada, Holland and Switzerland, he still paid a lot of passion in his productions.

Richie Hawtin licensed the TAKSI track „Schneesturm“ for his label „Plus 8″ and André released the compilation „Galluzzi im Garden“ on Ostgut in 2003, he produced the album „Night on Earth II“ for Ongaku and together with Paul he wrote the track „Maskenball“ for the “Cocoon Compilation C“. Also in the period of 2003/2004 a further important step in André’s career happened: The inclusion in the roster of Cocoon Booking.

In 2007 he released together with his studio partner Guido Schneider the track „Albertino“ on Cadenza, which was played by numerous international DJs in the loop. Besides that, André worked together with other musicians such as John Selway or Dana Ruh. With Dana he founded the label „ARAS“ in 2011, named after the colorful parrots. They chose that name because on this label, they are not only presenting a plattform for veterans of the scene such as Johannes Heil, but also for talented newcomers like the Swiss producer Andrea Oliva to release their colorful and diverse sounds to the public.

Today André Galluzzi is not only known for his new residency at Berghain and Panoramabar or for his extravagant and euphoric performances that often stretch to thrilling 10-hour-sets, but also for beeing one of the hottest international DJs of electronic music. Last year alone, he visited countries such as France, Italy, Spain or England for his gigs. But also outside of Europe in countries like Japan, South America or the United States, he has become an integral part of the club culture and regularly casts a spell on thousands of clubbers.
